چکیده
The objectives of this study were to establish geochemical background values aluminum (Al), iron (Fe), arsenic (As), barium (Ba), cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), vanadium (V), and zinc (Zn) for eastern Amazon soils assess the relationship between soil chemical granulometric attributes using univariate multivariate procedures. Samples from topsoil (0–0.2 m) collected in several areas with minimal or no human intervention. Pseudo total concentrations potentially toxic elements extracted via acid digestion quantified inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). results revealed that present high acidity, low levels cations organic carbon, highly heterogeneous geomorphological characteristics. Fe (9300 mg kg?1) Al (8200 showed highest mean study, while As (0.8 Cd (0.1 presented lowest levels. indicate 90th percentile can be used formalize quality reference State Pará 98th considered rich mineral deposits.

Toxic Elements in Soils
MAMMALS and birds sometimes seek shelter or nesting sites in the ground. Many of them scarcely affect the soil as a medium for plant growth. A notable exception is the soil-dwelling rodents. Although their acreweight is usually only about a few pounds even in the uncultivated land, their soil transporting activities sometimes are considerable. In building their tunnels and nests, they transport...
متن کاملRabies in humans and non-human in the state of Pará, Brazilian Amazon.
We evaluate the relationship of positive cases of rabies with the continuing expansion of livestock production, and analyse the trends of this zoonosis in human population in the state of Pará, Brazilian Amazon. The distribution of rabies cases was recorded between 1999 and 2004. Of 148 cases of rabies, 21% were in humans and 79% in non-human mammals. The rapid growth in livestock numbers seems...

In 2012, the Brazilian government revised the federal Forest Code that governs the use of forest resources on rural properties. The revisions included a forest trading mechanism whereby landowners who deforested more than what is legally allowed before 2008 could absolve their deforestation "debts" by purchasing Environmental Reserve Quotas (CRA) from landowners who conserved more forest than l...
متن کاملEvaluation of Potentially Toxic Elements Pollution Indices in Rangeland Northwest of Chadegan city (Isfahan Province)
Abstract Today, the pollution of Rangeland soils by various destructive pollutants has become one of the human-environmental problems. Lacking proper management of organic matter discharge can also increase the concentration of salts, heavy metals, and pathogenic microorganisms. In this study, to investigate and measure the concentration of toxic elements, 128 soil samples of Chadegan region w...
